April 2011
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

South Australian touring company, Lake Eyre Tours, has expanded its range of touring packages to include, a brand new three -day flying package , a new look three -day 'Prairie package' and a four -day package for travellers wanting to explore the Flinders Ranges and Outback, South Australia.

This comes at an exciting time for the region- the Lake is filling up day by day from the Queensland floodwater and northern rain.

Previously, Lake Eyre Tours offered a four-day package and a basic three-day, only leaving on a Friday. Now, the company offers a new three-day package departing every second Friday and a new four-day package, departing every Monday and Friday.

For the first time, Lake Eyre Tours will offer a three -day flying package , taking guests from Adelaide airport to Birdsville, Birdsville to William Creek and William Creek back to Adelaide. This package involves various spectacular scenic flights, including a flight over the Birdsville Track, Cooper Creek, Moomba, Innamincka, Coongie Lakes, Simpon Desert and more. This tour will depart the first and third Friday of every month, starting in May.

Lake Eyre Tours will also be offering a 'new look' three -day 'Prairie package' , which includes a bus journey from Adelaide to Parachilna, staying at the iconic Prairie Hotel for two nights, with a one day air safari, flying over the Northern Flinders Ranges, Innamincka, Coongie Lakes and Cooper Creek and Lake Eyre.

The four -day package includes: Adelaide to Coober Pedy, Coober Pedy to William Creek and Lake Eyre, William Creek to Copley, Copley to Adelaide in four days and three nights, departing every Monday and Friday, starting this May. While both trips will include a visit to Parachilna, Friday's tour will travel in reverse, and stay at the historical Parachilna on the first night and dine at the Outback's 'hippest' hotel, The Prairie.

Other new additions to the packages include an optional flight over Wilpena Pound, a tour of Umoona Mines in Coober Pedy, a flight over spectacular Coongie Lakes, a tour of Marree Museum Park and a look at Brachina Gorge in the Flinders Ranges.

Lake Eyre Tours owner Tom Noonan said now is the best time to view some of the most amazing, rugged and spectacular landscape of Australia.

"Lake Eyre is filling up fast from the floodwaters in Queensland," Noonan said. "Some are saying the water levels of the Lake will be more than they were in 1974, when the record breaking floods from Queensland swept the Lake."

"This means, more birdlife, more plants, and a multitude of spectacular colours on the land and the water. Now is the best time to visit the lake to marvel at this changing biodiversity, before the water disappears again!

"As we are anticipating a great year for the Lake, we thought it best to offer more packages for our travellers, with more options along the way. We wanted to create a diverse package, allowing tourists to capture the true beauty of the Flinders Ranges and Outback," he said.

Prices are inclusive of all accommodation and meals. Visit the website for full itinerary details at www.lakeeyretours.com.au.
