7 Day Murray River Tour Itinerary

Day One - Melbourne to Corryong

  • 8.30am Pick up from Melbourne city.

  • Depart, and drive north along the M31, and 1st stop at the Ned Kelly town of Glenrowan, and have morning tea.

  • Then onto Beechworth, and explore the historic town, and then head towards the hills, and wind our way upto the Hume Dam, and up, and up and up, we climb to Corryong, with the start of the great river just on the other side.

Day Two - Corryong to Echuca

  • Day 2 will be where we start our drive along Australias largest river, we pick up the river early in the morning, following it until the Hume Dam and its weirs, we go through Albury-Wodonga, and head to Echuca, where we spend the afternoon, touring and exploring the historic town, and stay our 2nd night.

Day Three - Echuca to Mildura

  • Day 3, Breakfast and on the road, we keep tracking the Murray river, a stop and look at Swan hill, and then onto Mildura, where we board our houseboat for the next 2 nights.

Day Four - Mildura along Murray River

  • 4th Day will be exploring the river from the water as we cruise along the river, marvelling at the flora and fauna, spectacular cliffs, the junction of the Darling and Murray river systems where they colide, before retiring and spending our 2nd night on the boat.

Day Five - Mildura to Mannum 

  • Day 5, where you say farewell to your houseboat, and cross the border into South Australia, travel through the fruit bowl towns of Renmark, Berri and Bamera, and onto the Historic town of Mannum, for our 5th night.

Day Six -Mannum to Goolwa ( The Mouth )

  • Day 6 is more exploring of the historic town of Mannum, and then we get to the town of Goolwa which is the Mouth of the Mighty Murray river we have been following.

Day Seven - Goolwa to Adelaide

  • Day 7, is a final look at the rivers mouth, and then head towards the Spectacular Adelaide hills, and the wine region of the McLaren Vale and a little tasting, and then onto the O'Connell Inn, Adelaide, where the tour will conclude.
